I have a problem.
I want a treadmill desk really badly.
But I live in a travel trailer. Not exactly room for one.
So, I got a SurfShelf Treadmill Desk and a gym membership.
It’s been wonderful. I changed the way the strap attaches to make it make more sense (SurfShelf, your instructions are wrong…). And I got started on my #getit mode to reboot my fitness.
Only problem is, my gym doesn’t have wifi. And there’s only so much I can do on my Chromebook without internet connection.
I have an iPhone 5 with unlimited data, and I remembered reading I could tether to another device if I did a jailbreak on my phone.
About 30 minutes ago I started the process. Now I’m done, have successfully tethered to my Chromebook, and am delighted at the other tweaks I can make to my settings.
It’s so super easy. Here’s what ya do:
BACKUP YOUR PHONE. No angry emails or tweets at me about how you didn’t back it up and something went wrong! I didn’t back mine up because I’m dumb like that! Do as I say, not as I do!
Then, download Pangu (for Mac or Windows), install it, hook up your phone, and push the button. You have to do a couple weird things – like change the date from automatically set to June 2 2014, and bypass a couple menu warnings from Google Calendar if you have one attached, but otherwise it was EA-SY.
Here’s a great resource if you get stuck, too.
Happy jailbreaking! And happy treadmill-desking if that’s what you’re into!
